WhO’S BEHIND THE strain show?
I’m Matt, the creator of the Strain Show.
Long before the Strain Show became a YouTube channel, I was just someone who couldn’t stop thinking about this plant. I was curious about how it worked, why people used it, why the laws around it were so complicated, and why honest information about it was so hard to find.
That curiosity stayed with me as I got older, and in 2017 I moved to Colorado to work in the legal cannabis industry as a grower. Working hands on with the plant taught me more than I could have learned from the outside. I got to learn from experienced growers, see how the legal industry actually worked, and understand how much practical knowledge people were still missing.
That is why I started the Strain Show.
At first, it was just a way to share what I was learning and help people get clearer answers about cannabis. Over time, it grew into something much bigger: a community built around curiosity, education, science, history, and one amazing plant.
The Strain Show exists to help adults better understand cannabis with information that is clear, practical, honest, and grounded in real experience. Every video, article, and project is made with love for this community and respect for the plant.
WHY I DO THIS
For decades, cannabis has been misunderstood, criminalized, and buried under stigma, fear, and misinformation.
Because of that, a lot of people were never given the chance to understand it clearly. Some were taught to fear it. Lots of us were given bad information. We were left to figure things out on our own, without honest education to help us make informed choices.
I have seen how much cannabis can mean to people. I’ve seen it affect comfort, quality of life, connection, and personal understanding in ways that are very real. But none of that can really happen without access to accurate information.
That is why I created The Strain Show.
I wanted to give people clearer answers about a topic that has been confusing for way too long. Whether someone is learning about the science, the history, the legal industry, medicinal use, or home cultivation in legal areas, the goal is always the same: make the information honest, practical, and easier to understand.
Because when we have better information, we can make better choices. And when people can learn without stigma, fear, or hype, they are in a much better position to understand this plant.
